Menu Builder
Menu builder may be used to modify or create custom menu categories. High level menu configuration can be completed through menu builder from the menu/category level down to the item level.

- Log into Command Center One (CC1): https://rrtportal.rrtusa.net/login
- Select Menu Builder under the Menu section.
Configuring menu categories:
- Click on the default menu that is being used. This will populate the menu categories assigned to the selected menu.
- Click on a category to populate the items assigned to that category.
- You may click on the pencil icon in any section to make edits.
Configuring existing menu categories-
- Click the edit icon in the menu section to configure a menu category.
- You may change the name of the category, add a category header or description, and assign a sort order value. Sorting a category with the #1 value will place the category at the top. Use sort values in multiples of 5 to the remaining categories in order to sort them in descending order.
- The checked boxes indicate the category is enabled in each specific area.
- In the Display column the Hide Online option may be used to pass forced modifier groups to the point of sale without showing the modifiers online. The Appetizer or Entree course forced modifiers are an example of modifiers that must be passed to the point of sale yet should not be visible online. For the remaining icons in the Display column please refer to the Item Groups knowledge document (insert hyperlink when doc is ready).
- Click Done when all changes or updates have been completed.
Removing/Adding existing menu categories-
Removing menu categories
- Click on the menu category that needs to be updated.
- Removing categories that will never be used will provide a clean menu. These can always be added back later if needed.
- Click on the minus icon to remove any categories that are not being used (the same can be done for menus if needed).
- You may save your changes to a single location or propagate the changes to some or all of the locations in the same division. Remember to skip invalidation until later unless you need to check your work.
Adding existing menu categories
- Click on the default menu to populate the list of assigned categories.
- Click the Add icon in the category section to add a category to the default menu.
- You may click the arrow filter next to the category label to sort the categories alphabetically.
- Select the category you wish to add.
- The category that was added will appear in the list of active categories assigned to the default menu.
- Click save.
Creating custom menu categories
- Custom categories may be added. Highlight the menu you are using then click the Add icon in the category section.
- Click on the Create New icon to create a custom category.
- The custom category will show up as New Category.
- Click on the edit icon to continue.
- Enable the category checkboxes in the item availability section.
- Add the category name, description (if applicable), and sort order. You may need to change other category sort values.
- Click Done.
- Highlight the new custom category. The Menu Category Items will populate below the category section. Click the Add button to begin adding items to the new category.
- Save to the location or multiple locations when all items are added.
Editing Items
- Item names, descriptions, images, sorting, and availability may be configured using Menu Builder. You may 86 an item, make the item non-taxable, as well as update nutritional information. Select the item you wish to update by drilling down through the menu category and click the edit icon.
- The Hide Online option is used mainly to pass through forced modifier groups that should not be visible on the client’s online ordering site. Please request assistance if this is needed.
- Hide by Day Part option is used mainly to show menu items that are available for limited times (breakfast items, lunch items, etc). Please request assistance if this is needed.
- The item configuration may be more refined by accessing the items or modifier group sections in CC1.
