Promo Code Configuration
Creating a New Promo: Note For POS integrated ordering - As a step in the implementation process, the restaurant will need to set up a Promo Item in the POS. This POS ID will then be added to the Maverick system. If this step is not completed,the restaurant will need to contact their Revolution Account Manager before continuing.
Login to https://maverick.rrtusa.net and click the Marketing tab on the left hand navigation panel.
To create a new promo click on the green ‘CREATE NEW PROMO’ button in the top right hand corner of the page. For each type of promotion, you will need to configure the following general settings.
- Brand: select the brand that this promo is associated with. If you only oversee one brand, your brand will be preselected.
- Keyword(s): The keyword that will be entered by the restaurant guest when placing their online order.
- Description: A brief internal description of the promotion.
- Promotion Type: There are 5 different types of promotions. Cart Discount, Delivery Discount, BOGO, Item Discount, and Bundle Discount. Each one will be detailed below.
- First Order: Business rule that will only allow a guest to use the promo on their first order using the online ordering system.
- Order Type: Choose between Pickup, Delivery, or All.
- Uses Per Customer: Define how many times a guest can use the promo code.
- Multiple Uses Per Order: Can the promotion apply multiple times to a single order?
- Max Uses Per Campaign: Maximum discount redemptions by all guests collectively. Ex: this promotion could be available for your first 500 guests that order through your new online ordering system.
- Dates: Fill in the ‘From’ date and the ‘To’ Date that you would like this promotion to run for.
- Merchants: Using the red button labeled “Select Merchants for Promo”, you will be able to assign this promotion to the locations that it will be available.
Now, let’s set up each distinct promotion type:
CART DISCOUNT:
- The Cart Discount gives the guest either a dollar discount or percentage discount off of the total cart.
- From the ‘Promotion Type’ Drop Down Select Cart Discount
- Fill out all of the general settings as outlined above.
- You will then define the promotion details for either a Dollar Amount or Percentage
- Min Order Amount: Optional. Determine a minimum threshold amount for the promotion.
- Discount Type: Choose from Dollar Off or Percentage Off.
- Dollars/Percent Off: Define the Dollar Amount Discount or The Percentage Discount for the promotion.
- Max amount Off: Optional. Set a maximum discount amount for the promotion.
- Once your options are selected, hit the Submit button to save this promotion.
DELIVERY DISCOUNT:
- This promotion type will give your guests a percentage discount off of a delivery fee.
- From the ‘Promotion Type’ Drop Down Select Delivery Discount
- Fill out all of the general settings as outlined above.
- Then fill out the following parameters for the discount
- % of Delivery Discount: The percentage that will be subtracted from the delivery fee for the guest.
- Min Order Amount: The minimum spend that the guest needs to reach for the discount to kick in.
- Once your options are selected, hit the Submit button to save this promotion.
BOGO DISCOUNT:
- This promotion will allow you to create Buy One Get One discounts across various parts of your menu.
- From the ‘Promotion Type’ Drop Down Select BOGO Discount.
- Fill out all of the general settings as outlined above.
- Once you have the general settings defined, you will have to define your “BUY MENU ELEMENTS”, which item(s) does the guest need to buy in order to get something free. Followed by your “GET MENU ELEMENTS”, which item(s) does the guest get for free.
- For the “Buy Menu Element” you will need to define what level of the menu will the buy option exist on.
- You can choose from: Category, Section, Section Size, Item, or Item Size
- For this example I have chosen the Item level. You will be presented with the options for the selected level. Then you will choose the items for the BUY ELEMENT.
- Then you will determine what level of the menu the "Get" option will exist on? The same options will be available - Category, Section, Section Size, Item, Item Size.
- For this example I chose the Item level again. You will be presented with the options for the selected level. Then you will choose the items for the GET ELEMENT.
- Once your options are selected, hit the Submit button to save this promotion.
ITEM DISCOUNT:
- The Item Discount allows you to define a discount on specific items on your menu.
- From the ‘Promotion Type’ Drop Down Select Item Discount.
- Fill out all of the general settings as outlined above.
- Next configure the minimum order amount followed by discount type - Dollar Off, Percentage Off, or Fixed Price (define a set price for the item(s) you are discounting).
- Then define the item(s) that the discount applies to. You will be able to choose from all levels of the menu - Category, Section, Section Size, Item, Item Size.
- Once your options are selected, hit the Submit button to save this promotion.
BUNDLE DISCOUNT:
- The Bundle Discount lets you define a grouping of menu items, where if ordered together, they qualify for a discount.
- From the ‘Promotion Type’ Drop Down Select Bundle Discount.
- Fill out all of the general settings as outlined above.
- Next configure the minimum order amount followed by discount type - Dollar Off, Percentage Off, or Fixed Price (define a set price for the bundled items you are discounting).
- Then you will then define which group of items you want to “bundle” in order to receive your discount. You can select these items from any level of the menu - Category, Section, Section Size, Item, Item Size.
- Once your options are selected, hit the Submit button to save this promotion.
View & Edit A Promotion:
Once logged into https://portal.rrtusa.net click the Marketing tab on the left hand navigation panel. Search for any promotion by name or Promo ID. Select the Promo you wish to view or Edit.
You will be able to edit any of the general settings, deactivate the promotion, or add messaging.
You can create new or different Promo Keywords.
You can add or remove the Merchants that the Promotion applies to.
Lastly, you can view the Promo Stats.
